Eyelash or lash extensions are used to enhance the thickness, length, and curl of your natural lashes. Generally, a single lash is applied to each natural lash to give the appearance of wearing mascara. After your initial application, it is recommended to have bi-weekly maintenance to keep that full look. During this process, lash extensions that have grown away from the lash line will be removed and be replaced with a new extension closer to the lash line. New extensions will also be added to new growth or where extensions have unattached.
Like any other hair follicle on our body, our lashes have a natural growth cycle. The length of this cycle differs from person to person but typically will last 8 - 12 weeks.
There are 3 stages to this growth cycle:
While it might be tempting to ask for the longest, curliest extensions available, those could do the most damage if your own lashes can't support them. Applying extensions that are too heavy or too long for the natural lash will result in premature shedding and will take longer for your natural lash to grow back.
We will determine the weight, length, and curl of the extensions to be applied during your consultation at your initial application appointment.
